Ann. 186:11, XXIX) and it sets rules and regulations to monitor private schools. Teachers are not required to be certified in order to teach in New Hampshire private schools and all private schools must teach basic courses in history and government starting in 8th grade (N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. 189:11). Private schools may participate in statewide testing after applying through the Department of Education (N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. 193-c:6).
