New Jersey Regulatory Laws For Boot Camps & Military Schools

In order to become a licensed residential facility in the state of New Jersey for juveniles, it must be approved by the Office of Licensing via the State of New Jersey Department of Children and Families.

All New Jersey private schools must get approval from the New Jersey Education Commissioner who issues a certificate to operate legally. Schools are not required to be licensed or accredited (N.J. Rev. Stat. §18A:69-1 et seq). Private school teachers in New Jersey don’t need to be certified. Schools must keep current immunization records for all students (N.J. Rev. Stat. §26:1A-9). Also, New Jersey private school students do not need to participate in state level testing.
