The True North Wilderness Program offers an adolescent therapeutic wilderness program that blends the simplicity and beauty of a wilderness program with a truly safe and effective therapeutic environment. Among the benefits of True North are small group sizes, positive wilderness activities, individualized treatment plans, emphasis on developing life skills and an inclusive parent program. The average stay for participants is 10 weeks, but therapy can be customized for each participant’s needs. Typical participants in True North Wilderness Programs face issues like oppositional or defiant behavior, low self-esteem, depression, peer pressure, anxiety, substance abuse and manipulative behaviors.
