Second Nature Blue Ridge

Second Nature Blue Ridge is a wilderness therapy program that helps troubled teens engage with nature and empower them with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, Second Nature Blue Ridge offers a clinically driven treatment model customized for each participant’s needs. Teens can benefit from Second Nature Blue Ridge if they struggle with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, substance abuse or dependence, computer addictions, poor self-esteem, ADHD and learning difficulties, attachment and adoption issues, grief and loss, NLD and Asperger’s, and more.

At Second Nature Blue Ridge, the staff is highly qualified, with each participant in the program having a Ph.D. or Master’s level clinician as the leader of his or her treatment team. There is a medical director on the staff who monitors psychotropic medications. Participants have access to a psychiatric assessment.

Student Activities Available

Because it is a wilderness program, most of the activities at Second Nature Blue Ridge include surviving and thriving in an outdoor setting. Participants will engage in hiking, chores, food preparation, therapy sessions, meditation sessions and specialized activities as they arise.
