In Balance Ranch Academy is a therapeutic boarding school that allows teenage boys to get professional help
with behavior and emotional issues, such as depression and anxiety, as well as substance abuse. Bringing traditional therapy together with equine therapy, In Balance Ranch Academy uses this successful approach in getting teens to heal and restore peace and balance to their lives. The academic arm of In Balance Ranch Academy focuses on getting boys up to speed on what they need to graduate, and some college prep courses are offered as well. With 125 acres of open space, boys at In Balance Ranch Academy are free to discover what they need to do to return to society as healthy, functioning members.
Licensed Faculty at School
At In Balance Ranch Academy, faculty and staff have earned a range of professional degrees, including licensed social workers, a master’s in human behavior, a master’s in counseling and a doctorate in psychology. The teaching staff are all certified with the state, and many have earned a master’s degree in their chosen fields.
Student Activities Available
Equine therapy is a big part of life on the ranch, so caring for horses and learning to ride is just one of the many outdoor activities available. Other activities include hiking, snowboarding, cooking and sports. In Balance Ranch Academy also sponsors international service trips, or voluntourism, for teen boys to locations like South Africa, Peru and Nepal.
