Copper Canyon Academy is a residential treatment center for girls ages 13 to 17, located in central Arizona. The highly structured facility specializes in helping troubled teenaged girls prepare academically for college while treating the underlying issues and challenges they face. With a program designed to develop each girl’s physical, mental, and emotional health, Copper Canyon Academy adds therapy sessions to a structured academic environment. Licensed Faculty at School
Foremost among the staff and faculty at Copper Canyon Academy is the clinical program director, who holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Nine of the school’s counselors hold master’s degrees in various forms of counseling and psychology, and there is also a licensed social worker on staff.
Student Activities Available
Although student life is focused primarily on academics, the girls at Copper Canyon Academy participate in many different extracurricular activities, including arts and crafts, gardening, and leading service projects. Supervised off-campus activities include dances, movies, sports and other local activities. Copper Canyon Academy’s equine therapy program also gives students a chance to care for and develop bonds with horses.
