Cherry Gulch is a therapeutic boarding school that helps preteen and teenage boys find therapeutic help and academic success. The school is located on more than 200 acres of ranchland near the Payette River. Students receive individualized treatment plans, as well as individualized education plans. With a high staff to student ratio, teens that struggle with ADD/ADHD, adoption issues, anger management, anxiety, Asperger’s, mild autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, obesity, oppositional defiant disorder and more. In this supportive environment, trained staff members work with students in individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions.
Licensed Faculty at School
The clinical staff at Cherry Gulch includes a doctor of clinical psychology, a doctor of psychiatry, six licensed therapists and a licensed occupational therapist. All individual, group, and family psychotherapy is conducted by experienced doctorate and masters level therapists.
Student Activities Available
Because Cherry Gulch is located on 22o acres of ranchland, students can participate in a range of outdoor activities and adventures, including rafting, swimming, horseback riding, geocaching, hiking, camping, fishing and gardening. Other activities include basketball, racquetball, judo, rock climbing, golf, bowling, lacrosse, skiing, snowboarding and BMX. Students also participate in a range of community activities, like work study programs, and field trips to places like the movies or museums.
